A Special Memorial to All
My Beloved Pets
Who Have Crossed Over Rainbow Bridge
Fly with Pegasus - and know
you are loved.

Cross the "To Rainbow Bride"
and be forever happy
Pugsley, Moochie, Princess, Kody, Madussa, Lucky, Spunky and Fluffy .
I hope that you are waiting for me at Rainbow Bridge.
I miss you all so much. Whenever I come to this page or your individual
pages, I spend the entire time crying.
Wait for me. I will be so happy to see you all again.
Thank you for making my life on earth so happy.

The Rainbow Bridge

There is a bridge connecting Heaven and Earth.
It is called the Rainbow Bridge because of its many colors.
Just this side of the Rainbow Bridge,
there is a land of meadows, hills and valleys with lush green grass.

When a beloved pet dies,
the pet goes to this place.
There is always food and water, and warm spring weather.
The old and frail animals are young again.
Those who have been maimed are made whole again.
They play all day with each other.

But there is only one thing
missing.
They are not with their special person who loved them on Earth.
So each day they run and play until the day comes
when one suddenly stops playing and looks up.
The nose twitches! The ears are up! The eyes are staring!
And this one suddenly runs from the group!

You have been spotted, and
when you and your special friend
finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted
again.
Your face is kissed again and again and again,
and you look once more into the eyes of your trusting pet. Then you cross
the Rainbow Bridge together,
never again to be separated.

Here is another beautiful poem that
I found.
Can't remember where, but it was so close to home that I wanted it here.
This poem is for all my fur family - dogs and cats who are both equal to
me. If you know the writer of this poem, please let me know so that I may
give them the credit.
Dogs
Don’t Have Souls, Do They?
I remember bringing you home.
You were so small and cuddly with your tiny paws and soft fur.
You bounced around the room with eyes flashing and ears flopping.
Once in a while, you’d let out a little yelp just to let me know this was
your territory.
Making a mess of the house and chewing on everything in sight became a
passion and when I scolded you, you just put your head down and looked
up at me with those innocent eyes as if to say: "I’m sorry, but I’ll
do it again as soon as you’re not watching."
As you got older, you protected me by looking out the window and barking
at everyone who walked by.
When I had a tough day at work, you would be waiting for me with your tail
wagging just to say, "Welcome home. I missed you."
You never had a bad day and I could always count on you to be there forme.
WhenI sat down to read the
paper and watch TV, you would hop on my lap looking for attention.
You never asked for anything more than to have me pat you head so you could
go to sleep with your head over my leg.
As you got older, you moved
around more slowly.
Then one day, old age finally took its toll, and you couldn’t stand
on those wobbly legs anymore.
I knelt down and patted you lying there, trying to make you young again.
You just looked up at me as if to say you were old and tired and that after
all those years of not asking or anything, you had to ask me to one last
favor.
With tears in my eyes, I
drove you one last time to the vet.
One last time you were lying next to me.
For some strange reason
you were able to stand up in the animal hospital -perhaps it was your sense
of pride.
As the vet led you away,
you stopped for an instant, turned your head and looked at me as if to
say: "Thank you for taking care of me."
I thought, "No
- thank YOU for taking care of ME."

A Dog On Loan
I'll lend you for a little time, a dog of mine God said.
For you to love while he lives and mourn when he is dead.
The years they may be six or ten or even as few as three.
But will you, 'til I call him back, take care of him for me?
He'll bring his charms to gladden you, and shall his stay be brief,
You'll have his memories as solace for your grief.
I cannot promise he will stay, since all from earth return,
But there are lessons taught down there I want this dog to learn.
I've looked the wide world over, in search for a master true,
and from the throngs that crowd life's lanes, I have selected you.
Now will you give him your love, nor think the labor vain,
nor hate me when I come to call to take him back again?
We answered in sincerity, Dear Lord,Thy will be done.
For all the joy this dog shall bring, the risk of grief we'll run.
We'll shelter him with tenderness, and love him while we may,
And for the happiness we will know, we'll ever grateful stay.
But shall the angels call for him much sooner then we planned,
We'll know the bitter grief that comes, and try to understand.

If you are a truely loving person,
the one thing you will find is that you don't just buy a pet....you adopt
a family member.
All my wonderful fur family and some not mentioned from many years ago
have all passed including Moochie - our present little fur family member-
our pug) on to the Rainbow Bridge - where all animals go.
God loves animals and has a very special place for them in his realm....I
don't know what He calls it...but I've seen many sites dedicated to their
pets and they use the term "Rainbow Bridge" (which I thought
was really nice.So I guess, I'll keep that term because it makes me feel
all the more happy to picture them in such a beautiful place called "Rainbow
bridge".
I just added the poem that was sent to me from some wonderful people who
read my memorial and realized I had never seen the poem. So thanks so much
for sending this lovely poem - it does make a difference invisioning them
at Rainbow Bridge waiting for us to join them.
I hope that they still can see us all and know that we loved them so verymuch
and always will. That's why the song "I will always love you"is
playing because we will always love them and remember them as the most
wonderful family members. They gave nothing but unconditional love to us
all. They asked for so little in return.
They wanted nothing more than to please us....and they certainly did that
very well.
Although they were all deeply loved, I think the one everyone misses the
most is Princess. She was such a very special dog and the smartest one
I've ever seen. You can read all about her on her Memorial Page. The saddest
part of loosing her was the way she went. Although she was going to be
put down as she could barely walk and was in constant pain, I had arranged
for a vet to come to our home to do it with her surrounded by all thosewho
loved her. My daughter thought that her father (my ex) should have a chance
to say goodbye to her. I agreed because I knew that he too had loved her.
Well, I don't know if he was aware that she had deteriorated so badly but
he let her out alone and with her eyesight going and not really knowing
the territory, she wandered on the highway where he lives and was struck
by a vehicle. He didn't find her for 8 hours and so we have no idea of
whether she went quickly or suffered. I pray that God took her quickly
to his realm and she didn't suffer at all.
I'm sure He did because He knew how very special she was. She is now at
total peace, rest and contentment with all of her facilties intack and
she wanders His realm with Him. She's no longer in pain and I picture her
running through His meadows across the Rainbow bridge (and she really loved
water) and looking and watching and waiting for me. I love you Princess..
So to all my wonderful fur family...this page and realm is dedicated to
you....for all you gave and for the little you asked in return. We all
loved you all very much and think of you constantly and to show you that
- we've placed you on this site to remain forever....in our hearts, minds
and souls.
Stay happy dear friends! Stay young and play forever....we want only the
best for you and we're so grateful that you have that now even though we
miss you so much.
