Lucky is now gone and was put down in 1995 due to old age and disease.
That doesn't mean that because she is gone that she won't be missed. She was raised with all my children and had many special things she did that will always remain in our hearts and mind. So to ensure that Lucky knows that she was and still is loved....this page is for her.

This cat was found in winter outside and someone had placed her in an air grate(that's when an office building has offices underground - they cut out a large hole and cement all around it and then place a grate over it sono one will fall in). This allows sunshine to get into the office, but it can be dangerous as Lucky found out. That's why she was called "Lucky"...she was lucky to have been found alive. I fed her when we first found her and the kids kept begging me to keep her but I was so sure that someone had lost this cat (thought she was declawed - but it turned out to be that she just burnt her nails off trying to climb out of the grate. It was winter and freezing outside and I have no idea of how long she was there. I do know that the top of one ear fell off due to frost bite. I called the Humane Society to report her - but they didn't have anyone who had reported a lost tabby. So I took her to my vet. I had called him and said I found a kitten (she was so small) and when we arrived and he looked at her teeth- he said it was no kitten...this cat was over a year old. Well at that time, I had already bought Kodiak and he was killed, so I had gone out and bought Princess. I figured with both of them being so young that they'd soon adjust. 13 years later - they still had a hate on for each other.
Princess's parents were both guard dogs and she was very protective and did not hesitate to bite if she felt that I was threatened. But this big brave dog - was scared of this cat. Even before Princess died, she would try to climb up the stairs and if Lucky was sitting on them (and she did like to do that to make Princess uncomfortable, Princess would whine until I came and moved Lucky.
The friendship ring that I joined is owned by the Maniac and he has two cats. His motto is "Cats rule and dogs drool". Boy, he must have known Lucky - because she was the boss of the house. I'll be adding more about the special things this amazing cat has done.

Lucky had formed a strange habit of helping me put the kids to bed at night.When I'd take them up for a bath, she would follow and sit on the tub whileI bathed the kids. When they were done, I'd tuck them in and then Lucky would jump up and give each of them a kiss. She would always kiss Jennifer first and then jump in between Ryan's crib bars to kiss him.

After this routine, she'd then wait until I came out and would look to me to see if I was going to bed. If not, I'd tell her..
"No, I'm not going to bed right now" and she'd run into Jennifer's room and sleep on her pillow aroung her head until I came up to go to bed.Then she'd run out and run into my room and sleep there until the morning. She was an amazing cat....and she is still missed today.
