Our spirits are but seeds to be
planted in soil
tilled by our predecessors
If the soil is dry and caked there will be no growth,
the soil needs caring and love
Once planted we rely on light and nourishment
supplied by our environment
If there is no illumination nor precipitation of devotion,
there will still be no growth
When our bodies are grown full
the spirit reflects what was imparted
Too often the soul did not receive enough water and sun
It falls now upon the mature individual
to tend to the spiritual development
However it so happens that we were taught
little of gardening
We need learn what it is that will make the spirit grow,
lest it whither and die
If we do not glean, then we plant our seeds
in the same dry soil given us
Once we attain knowledge on how to nurture the earth
we can help the spirit to flourish
With the light of truth and the nourishment of Gods' love
our spirit thrives Our seeds can now find fertile
ground, where they will be given the chance to sprout
These new seeds never having to endure the drought, we in past endured Douglas A. Walker
