The clam
feels secure in its' hard shell, the encasement suggests an impression of
toughness
Protection from all things faced, the hard construct does not allow for sensitivity of any
kind It remains soft inside not feeling what is occurring outside the
shell
Closed the clam remains soft
When open the mollusk exposes its' soft meat
Feeling vulnerable it is often hurt and closes up
again
Yet hiding in its' tough exterior
it experiences nothing of life
If the shelled beast were to remain open perhaps
it would lose some of its' inner softness
The shell would become less necessary
as the insides became more use to exposure
It takes a lot of trust to open up
We need help from somewhere, something that
we could hand over the duty of protection to
Who or what is deserving of this kind of trust
Is there anyone or anything we can turn our will over to
Someone who loves us unconditionally,
has our best interest at heart, who will never leave our side
It would take a God
