Deep inside lies a deep dark
abyss, excavations of our predecessors coupled with our own
delvings Long did dark forces toil,
creating every nook, making the gaping raw wide and
deep We attempted futilely to fill the
crater, empty we tried many different means Aspiring to attain monetary
success we would step out periodically to numb the pain caused by our
compulsiveness The agony would desist as long as
our cup was full This only led to larger more
complex dilemmas, the excavation continued Love was replaced by a physical
release, finding only momentary balm we could never be
satisfied Yet still we looked for creative
new ways to heighten the titillation Always it came to the same
fleeting moment of gratification Becoming dependant upon
diversion, we would often return to our chosen
medication Briefly the pain would dissipate,
then it was back, the hole became immeasurable The emptiness brought on fear,
the pain worsened, we were in despair Some of us were then saved, we
were selected as carriers of a divine message Having been given salvation from
our affliction, we were supplied substance with which we could fill the
emptiness inside us However in us the past was
exceedingly strong, it was so alluring, we were tempted turn
back We took strength from our
saviour, He gave us what we needed to persevere Our part was and still is to
carry His message through example To keep what we had attained we
must give it away, this is our pact with God With this opportunity for
spiritual healing our souls are filled with His light we need feel the emptiness
of the cavity no more
