About Jessica

Jessica is Doug's youngest child and his only daughter.

She was born on March 17, 1990 and weighed in at 8 lbs. Apparently, she might have been bigger but she was induced because the doctor was concerned that her mother would have the same problem delivering her as she did her older brother, Kris.

I live with her mom, Karen, but she sees her dad every Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday (during football season) and she stays with Doug and I every other weekend.

I had originally decorated her room in pink and mint green.  She had pink drapes and a pink rug and a floral pink and mint bedspread. I also gave me her big tiger that stays in my room. It has a t-shirt that says "Don't Worry---Be Happy". She like it and we gave me a Koala bear too and that's on my bed. She also got me a large stand up from a video store that is Aristocrats. Kris has the Pocohontas ones that I used to have.

I redid her room in Tigger (her favorite character) and now my whole room matches with Tigger.

My Picture

Now she has to wear glasses for looking farawy, but she likes them, so sometimes she wear them more often.

Her father always calls her his "Little Angel"and I wanted a picture of her that showed that she was an angel. So I sent her picture to Lady Barb (a friend of mine) and she took the picture and made me look like an angel. That picture is at her dad's site.
It is also here.

What Jessica's Name Means

My Name means "God's Grace" - Born to Lead
Local origin of name: English.
From the Hebrew root name "Jessica"
Emotional Spectrum: The seasons affect her emotions more than most.
Personality: Takes life slow and easy, but enjoys every minute.
Career & Money: Wile finances are high on her list, money isn't everything.
Life's Opportunitites: Early childhood opportunities in education will benefit her.

Some of the things Jessica likes are:

She likes playing with her friends and some of her friend's names are Almal and Adar. She also like to go to the park and play with them. She also like roller blading. She also enjoy watching movies and usually watchs her favorite shows every weekend at her Dad's.

Some of the things Jessica likes doing:

She likes playing with her friends. She really likes roller blading and her dad bought her new roller blades and all the equipment to go with it so she wouldn't hurt herself. She enjoys spending time with her dad and they even had a very special date. Her mother brought her to meet him after work and because he was all dressed in his suit, she got all dressed up as well and they went to a fancy restaurant for supper.
It was a very special date with her dad.

In winter she loves skating and sleding. Her Dad bought her skates and racers for the hills. They sure go fast, but she doesn't like to carry it back up, so her dad has to do it. He takes them skating and sleding in the winter if the weather is okay, otherwise, they watch movies.

Her dad bought her a lot of movies - some she brings home to Mom's and some she leave at her dad's house. As well he rents new movies every weekend. She gets a pick and so does Kris and sometimes even her Dad and I get one.

She played soccer all summer and then joined the same football team as her brother Kris. They both play for the West Ottawa Vikings. She likes football and she is fantastic at it.

Jessica's Collections

Jessica collects comic books. She has a collection of comic books that her dad and her started. She collects "The Web of Spiderman" comic books. Her dad gives her 4 comics a week and her collection is growing and will be valuable someday.

About Jessica's dad

her dad is great. He calls her his little angel and when he heard the song"Butterfly kisses" by Bob Carlisle - he went out to get it so it would be their special song. Click here for the lyrics of Butterfly Kisses to see why he likes it so much.
Lyrics to Butterfly Kisses.

Her Dad does stuff with them all the time but sometimes they each have special time with him. Kris goes to football and hockey games with him - Jessica went to two games with him as well, but he took her out on a special date to make up for the time he took Kris to a football game and she didn't want to go.

Jessica's Mom

She lives with her mom most of the time but she used to spend every weekend with her dad. Since her brother Kris has moved in with us, she now see him every 2 weeks. Her mom and Jessica just moved into a new apartment right around the corner from us as before they were living with her grandmother. Her grandmother had three cats and now she just has Moochie at her Dad's house.
She love animals and last Christmas Dad bought her the complete Barbie Vet Set. She takes good care of animals.

Jessica's Brother
She has one brother and his name is Kris. Most of the time they get along but sometimes they fight and she doesn't like fighting and I don't think Kris does either. I guess it's just a kid's thing and when they grow older I'm hoping they'll be good friends.

Some Notes on Jessica

Although most fathers love their children the same, there always seems to be different bonds between a father and son and a father and daughter.

Jessica is his little angel. He knows that little girls grow up wanting to marry someone just like their father, so he's thrilled at that prospect. He changed his life around when his children were born.
The new Bob Carlisle song called"Butterfly kisses", brings him to tears. It's about a father watching his daughter grow up and eventually marry. It's a beautiful song and because of the lyrics, Doug gets all mushy when he hears it - knowing that some day his little girl will no longer be given him "Butterflykisses".
He does lots with both of his children. He has taken Kris to hockey games and when Jessica doesn't want to go - he then takes her on a special outing. The last one was called a date. Since he would be meeting her after work, he'd be dressed in his suit, so he asked her to get all dressed up so they could go on a father/daughter date. No McDonalds- a very fancy restaurant. He constantly does things with his kids and I get amazed at how much he loves them and how much effort he puts into being a good parent and participating in their lives.

Divorce is very hard on kids, but Doug's have adjusted well because of the way he and Karen are. He may not be living with both of kids, but they know that he is still a part of their lives.
They used to come and stay here with us every weekend and we would also take them out every Wednesday for ice cream. These things changed when Kris moved in with us. Since both of them were on the same football team, he would see Jessica twice a week at the practices and every Saturday at the games. These two kids know that divorce doesn't mean they loosing their father - because he sees them so often.
They are very lucky and they know it. We make a big issue out of birthdays, Christmas, Easter and other holidays....telling them how lucky they are to get two of everything. They always agree.

Updates

Jessica and her mother moved closer to her Dad so they could all have a better relationship and it helps that they can now see each other a lot more.

I redid her room in Tigger (her favorite character) and now my whole room matches with Tigger.

Christmas 2000

This year she wanted a skateboard and Game Boy Color Gold and Silver.  As well as getting all she wanted, she got some things she never asked for but still loves. While out grocery shopping with her dad and I, she saw this huge stuffed Tigger ( Winnie the Pooh Tigger) and she really liked it. Well, that Tigger was waiting for her under the tree at Christmas, and he talks too! This was a great Christmas.

This is her journal for 1997

In August 1997, Dad took them on a vacation for a week. We stayed at Calabogie Peaks and went to Logos Land (they have really neat water slides and we also went to StoryLand. It was a great vacation and we had a great time. We're going to do it again next year.
Last year for Christmas she got all kinds of Barbie stuff. New barbie dolls, barbie phone, barbie car, the complete Barbie Vet Kit with a Dr.Barbie. she also got a lot of other things as well. It's nice because we have two Christmas's - one with her Dad and one with her Mom, so they end up with lots of gifts.

IShe got roller blades and all the equipment needed - pads and helmet and she loves roller blading now. She's very good at it and she seems like a natural. She loves to roller blade with her friends and when they come to her dad's house.

She saved all her money and decided that I wanted to buy a basketball with it so she could practise at home.Since she's been earning the money, her dad wanted to ensure she spent it on something worthwhile, so when she chose a basketball, her dad said it was okay. They went out and practised on the weekend.

Dad took them to the movies and they saw "Men in Black".
It was a really funny movie and they got some junk food to eat there and bring home. Every weekend her barbeques and cooks us hot dogs and hamburgers.  Kris likes hot dogs and Jessica like hamburgers.
I eats hamburgers too but her Dad is back to dieting so he had chicken.

For Christmas, this year, she asked for a telescope and I not only got a telescope, but she got a computer. It's not a big one like I has, but it helps her with spelling, math and all kinds of things.

This is her journal for 1998

I played football this year on the same team as Kris, West Ottawa Vikings, and we had to practice twice a week and we played games every Saturday. We won some and lost some but we had fun. At the end of the season, we had a big banquet and got trophies for different things. I won a trophy and Kris won two trophies.

For Christmas this year, I asked for Hockey equipment so I got everything I'll ever need to play hockey. I got a net, pads, and two hockey sticks. As well, I also got a room guard. He's an ant from the movie "A Bug's Life". He talks and when I program him, he guards my room. If anyone tries to come in, he warns them that he is on guard. He then tells me when I come home if anyone has been in my room. I like that. I got a lot of other stuff as well. Three big bags full. I got a bunch of gifts from my mom, my grandmother and other people. I like having two Christmas's cause I get a lot more stuff now.
Come back often and see the updates to my site.

My Journal For 1999

I'm still playing football but now I'm playing better and was elected Team Captain.

I had one injury when I was knocked out during a game when I was tackled. Dad and Carol drove me to the hopsital and after several hours they were told I was okay.

They had to cut off my uniform for ex-rays though. Now I keep it as a memento.
