A Special Letter to My Daughter,

Dear Jennifer:
How do I tell you how special you are to me? From the moment I set eyes
on you at your birth, I felt this wonderful and amazing bond. I looked
into your sweet face and remember thinking "God, I'm so lucky to have
had this beautiful child". You were everything I had asked for and
more. I just wanted you to be born with all the right amount of fingers
and toes and have nothing wrong with you - but you came that way plus with
a beauty that radiated from you.
I wish I could post all your pictures as you grew from that tiny child
into the wonderful woman you are now,
but it would take too much room and I don't have the space (plus the pictures
may embarrass you) LOL!
Well, sweetheart, the hardest thing a mom has to do or face is when their
child leaves home and goes it alone. I know that it is our job to do this-
to prepare you to manage on your own, but that doesn't make it any easier
when it happens.
I miss your laughter, I miss our talks, I miss knowing what's going on
in your life. I miss YOU!!
I created a whole secion of poems to daughters because of you. I had so
much to say but the words just don't come...so I thought that the poems
would be the answer.
Each one of those poems in the Poetry Realm is meant for you. Each one
of those poems says something to you from me and my heart.
I hope that you will always know that I love you. No matter what path in
life you choose, I will not judge you. No matter what decisions you make-
I will not judge you - for a mother's love is unconditional and that is
what I have for you....
MY UNCONDITIONAL LOVE!
I want you to always know that no matter what - I will be here for you.
I want you to know that whenever you need me - I'm right here waiting.
So to end this and to thank you for coming into my life and making a difference
that can never change,
I thank you and say this from the bottom of my heart. I LOVE YOU AND ALWAYS
WILL.

Here is a poem that really
touched me the most and so I'll put it here for you to read.

My dear daughter
I want so much for you to know
how much I love you.
I am critical of you sometimes,
but it's only because I have experienced
so much more of life,
and I can often see that the path
you are taking today,
may not take you to where
you want to be tomorrow.
I know, too, that you are still young,
and you have to experience life for yourself.
If I can...
I just want to spare you some of the
pain I had to go through on my own path in life....
When the words don't come with all I want
to say, I can still say this:
I love you tremendously.
I would do anything
for you.
And I promise I will try to be
more patient and understanding of you,
and I pray that you will do the same for me.
And do me a favor sometimes.....
tell me you love me, okay?
Having you grow up so quickly is hard on me.
