How I Found the Man of My Dreams

I guess I wondered if I would ever find
the man of my dreams.
I didn't know who he might be,
or when it might happen,
but I did know this:
the man of my dreams
couldn't be just anyone.
He had to be someone INCREDIBLE...
The man of my dreams wasn't going to be
easy to find.
He had to be a lot of things:
someone with whom I was able
to be sincere
and communicative and completely honest,
just the way I wanted him to be with me.
Sometimes he would be outrageous and funny
and wonderful,
and yet he would be gentle
and genuine and always there -
in good times and bad.
He would be very reassuring and
supportive.
The man of my dreams had to have
a warm heat and a sensitive soul
and be full of
fun and friendship and shared feelings.

It seemed like the man of my dreams
was just a figment of my imagination
...until you came along.

And then..when you did...
I discovered that you
are EVEN MORE WONDERFUL
than I imagined
any could be.

You are my heart's twin

You are my heart's twin,
my first thought in the morning,
and my last thought at night.
You are my soul's mirror,
the only one who truly understands
how it is with me.
I wish I could put into words
the depth of my feelings for you.
When I think about
the good times we've shared,
and yes, the difficult ones too,
I feel simply and quietly grateful
to have found you.

I needed something to believe in.

A lot of people know the surface side of me,
the side they see while I'm working
or just going through the day....
But there's another side of me - an inside -
that people never see.
It's a part that's full of a thousand thoughts;
a part that embraces love and cherishes friendship,

The inside of me has so many moods

and my spirits are soaring.

and you now know that you can trust me with yours....
This sharing....this special sharing...
is one of the nicest dimensions
my life has ever known.

You and I took a special chance
the first time we met....
we both knew enough of love,
and life, to understand that
two people don't fall in love,
they grow into it, slowly -
and we'd both been hurt before
by feelings that seemed too easily lost...
but there was something between us
from the beginning, a unique harmony
that made us take that special chance....
